The new car is a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX Spec - C. The car is ex Subaru Aus and was built by Possum Bourne Motorsport NZ.  Preparations are underway with a new engine to be built at Source Automotive. The turbo requires a restrictor and then a retune of the Motec engine management to suit. Also required is the necessary underbody protection and other item's required for the dirt.
The Team is very excited and re - enthused, looking forward to some excellent competition around the state. The car featured in a national ad campaign for Subaru STI.

The original competition car was an original 1995 RA shell with Version 4 runncurrent ing gear & bodywork, and a Version 5 rear wing. The engine is currently an open-deck block with Sti internals, but is about to change to closed-deck with forged pistons. A VF35 turbocharger is controlled by a Link-chipped ECU with Anti-lag enabled. Differentials are KAAZ 1.5ways front and rear, with a 20kg center in a close-ratio Sti-RA gearbox. A Jim Berry clutch & pressure-plate does the hard work, and the car sits on Drummond 50mm struts.

This car is a combination of the teams two previous cars, after a Round 4 rollover damaged the shell. It took 130 man-hours in 4 weeks to swap the mechanical componentry, and be ready for the final round of 2006.
